Kochbuchautoren können ihr Kochbuch jetzt bei dem wichtigsten Wettbewerb für Kochbücher weltweit anmelden: GOURMAND WORLD COOKBOOK AWARDS – Das Anmeldeformular und die Bedingungen sind hier:
– There are over 24.000 different food and wine books published around the world every year. In 2006, over 6.000 books in 40 languages from 65 countries competed in the Gourmand World Cookbook Fair Awards.We organized 53 national and regional competitions worldwide. Books compete first in their own language, then the winners compete for Best in The World. In 2007, even more entries are expected.
Winning books get a new „launch“ thanks to the awards, and sell more books. More importantly the winners get international recognition and may obtain international rights deals and be translated.
– The list with winners in the national and regional competitions is communicated to the winner in December 2007. The list will be posted on www.cookbookfair.com before the end of January 2008.
– Languages include:English, Spanish, Catalan, Gallego, Euskera, French, Afrikaans, German, Italian, Portuguese, Greek, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finn, Icelandic, Flemish; Hebrew, Japanese, Chinese, Bahasa Malaysian,Russian, Polish, Hungarian, Czech, Croatian, Slovenian, Arabic,Turkish, Korean. Winners in these languages are contacted personnally in December 2007.
-The International Jury is made up of Jean Jacques Ratier, Mayor of Sorges, capital of the truffles of Perigord, Dun Gifford, President of Oldways, a non profit foundation (USA), Bo Masser, Directeur of Booktown Grythyttan (Sweden), Edouard Cointreau, President and Founder of the awards.
– All food and wine books published between November 15, 2006 and November 15, 2007 qualify. Projects, manuscripts, blads are accepted and even most welcome. There are no entry fees. Three copies of each book have to be sent to:

Awards Rules:
– All books about food or/and wine qualify. There are no entry fees.
– There are 36 categories for cookbooks and 14 for books about wine, spirits and other drink.
– The jury may change books form one category to another.
– You can participate in the awards without visiting the fair
– Books have to be published between November 15, 2006 and November 15, 2007
– Deadline for receiving books is November 15, 2007. Projects, manuscripts, blads are accepted.

– Authors and Publishers who enter in the competition for the Gourmand World Cookbook

Gourmand Awards “World Best Cookbook” if they are asked by Gourmand after
winning a “Best in the World” award, subject to separate contract.
